Juul Frost Architects has prepared an initial report for the planning of Murervangen 2 and 42. The site is a part of the ongoing transformation of Hersted Industrial Park in Albertslund – a district evolving from a traditional industrial area into a dense, green, and mixed-use urban neighbourhood focused on community, quality of life, and sustainable mobility.
Quality Homes in a New Urban Transformation District
Hersted Industrial Park is already well underway in its transformation from an industrial area into a new residential neighbourhood that accommodates both vibrant urban living and business activity.
At Murervangen 2 and 42, two residential courtyard blocks of five to six storeys will be constructed. The block facing the district’s main boulevard, Smedeland, will feature an eight-storey corner tower. The homes are being developed with a strong focus on quality and well-being and will range from two- to four-bedroom apartments.
The residential blocks are designed to appear balanced and cohesive, with subtle variations in the façades’ base, middle, and upper sections, complemented by brickwork detailing.
Urban Life and Open Courtyard Spaces
To support an active streetscape along Smedeland, commercial spaces will be incorporated at ground level. Along the quieter surrounding streets, the ground-floor apartments will be elevated slightly above street level to provide greater privacy for residents.
The two residential blocks will frame a pair of green courtyards that are both visually and functionally connected. The rooftops of the buildings will provide shared outdoor spaces for residents, while the roof of the covered parking structure will serve as a link between the two courtyards, offering easy and safe access to recreation, movement, and ball games.
Murervangen 2 and 42 contribute to Albertslund’s ongoing development by creating new homes and supporting a healthy, attractive, and vibrant urban environment.
