RESEARCH + DEVELOPMENT

"We integrate research into our daily work to qualify our practice and projects to secure innovative architecture and planning of relevance to society."

Helle Juul, Founding Partner

We insist on delivering innovative and future-proof solutions with impact. That's why research and development are a core part of our workday.

Juul Frost Architects’ work is always based on research and knowledge, and we engage in both large and small research and development projects. We translate research into pragmatic methods and tools that can be applied practically in our work and disseminated through lectures, workshops, etc.

We are currently responsible for the Realdania supported development project 'The Urban Health Culture of the Future', which aims to ensure a link between planning and health. And we have developed new recommendations for safety-promoting urban development for The Danish Crime Prevention Council

Juul Frost Architects have previously been responsible for the three-year, Realdania-funded development project 'Public Space as a Catalyst for Change', 'The University of the Future' for the National Research and Education Buildings and "The Campus Areas of the Future – from Academic Village to Urban University Hub' for the Danish University and Building Agency. In 2010, the design studio graduated its first industrial PhD in architecture, Kristine Samson, with the project 'The Performative Aesthetic Urban Space'.

We are continuously developing industrialised construction: Juul Frost Architects has developed the flexible and optimised building concept "S-M-L", which ensures good living conditions in limited spaces. We work proactively with CLT and contribute to creating new processes for timber construction.
