RENOVATION AND TRANSFORMATION OF KØBMAGERGADE 28
For Barfoed Group, we have transformed a retail space with a focus on exclusivity and simplicity. The modernist façade from 1940 has been preserved and renovated, while the interior has been reimagined with elegant solutions and refined materials.
The project builds on the building’s history and location, where the existing façade – added in 1940 with its characteristic modernist expression – is preserved and refurbished. Inside, the premises have been renewed with an emphasis on simplicity, exclusivity, and attention to detail. A new, slender staircase creates an elegant connection between the tall basement and the mezzanine-like ground floor, and through refined material choices, the retail space has been elevated to a more exclusive level. The renovation strikes a balance between respect for the existing and a renewal that enhances the site’s architectural quality and timeless character.
