Arken Walk
Ishøj Municipality and ARKEN Art Museum want to establish an art trail that can create a better, more visible and eventful connection between Ishøj train station and the Museum. With the proposal, Juul | Frost Architect has created a choreographic work where both body and mind are kept in motion.
The new art path integrates the everyday life, nature, city and art with new experiences. A place where where earth art and land art unfold in walk art - Art that must be experienced in motion.
The local landscape is drawn into the city, where bits of the reed, the meadow, trees and the water is brought into the city. The natural landscape and urban landscape merge and natural elements become landmarks on the path.
The jury panel highlights the proposal for “its great empathy and sympathetic elaboration of the urban spaces and situations that affect the residents along the route. The project carefully processes the different urban spaces and situations adapted to the very diverse local conditions along the way.”
