Sjöjungfrun
Sjöjungfrun is being developed in the heart of Västra Hamnen as part of the World Trade Center Malmö – a new multifunctional district located close to both the waterfront and the city centre, connecting Malmö’s vibrant urban life with its recreational waterfront environment.
The development comprises 187 apartments ranging from one- to four-bedroom units, with retail spaces incorporated into parts of the lower floors. A public through-passage invites the city into the development, while the publicly accessible ground-floor levels are designed to contribute to and enhance the surrounding urban life for the benefit of both residents and the wider community.
Sjöjungfrun serves as a visual landmark, placing the WTC district firmly on the map. The residential programme is arranged within two freestanding building volumes that together form a perimeter block structure, as well as a separate volume that reaches its highest point in the north-eastern corner of the WTC area. This configuration creates dual-aspect apartments and ensures optimal access to daylight from the central courtyard.
