Kristiansand 2041
The demography of Kristiansand is changing – the city should be a place for everyone, regardless of age or life style. The key to achieving this goal is the urban space as a democratic and equal platform where people meet across social boundaries, attitudes and generations – a place with room for everyone and room for differences.
The city should consist of several urban spaces. For the many, for the few, and for the individual. An extensive network of nodes that complement one another, provide structure, and contain connections and possibilities for new development, establishing a clear connection between locality and individual and renewed communal possibilities for the entire area. This cohesion provides identity and orientation, and enhances the sense of being part of a social network across time and space.
We are inspired to develop Kristiansand in new urban areas, and focus on innovation, density, hybrid programming, social sustainability, and adding new housing typologies and adaptive technologies that emerge from the vision of the specific area. This can be accomplished by developing from within, accelerating the development of Kristiansand in specific areas that complement each other internally, each contributing to the unique identity and attractiveness of the area.
