NEW OLD GATHERING PLACE IN ODENSE – RESTAURANT SKOVEN OPENS
Last Friday, we were there when the historic Restaurant Skoven, from 1936, once again opened its doors as a vibrant gathering place for Odense.
The new restaurant in the old surroundings has now opened as a brasserie, café and bar. At Juul Frost Arkitekter, we are proud to have contributed to this special project, which has been carried out with great care and deep respect for the history of the place, and with an eye to a future as a significant meeting place for all of Odense.
Juul Frost Arkitekter was responsible for partially restoring the facades to their original expression and creating unity and cohesion between the building’s various additions. For example, the original 1936 pavilion has been restored, complete with painted half-timbering. In addition, the main entrance and the outdoor serving and seating areas have been respectfully renewed with an expression that is both elegant and understated, and which suits the restaurant well.
